Tour description
Day 1 Mt Baekunsan Hiking - Camping at the Donggang Riverview Campsite
On the first day, you will go to Jeomjae village, in Jeongsun county, Gangwon Province. Start to go hiking
Mt Baekunsan from the village and descend down the mountain to Jejang village through Chiljokryeong observatory. This outstanding hiking requires about 5 hours. You will have a beautiful viewpoint from
where you will be able to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Donggang River, as it meanders through the
valleys of mountains with steep cliffs, creates picturesque scenes along its entire course. The panoramic
view is awesome and most rewarding for this challenging hiking
You will pitch a tent in a spot at the Donggang Riverview campsite where you can get the beautiful scenery
of Donggang River at a glance and cook Korean barbeque for your dinner with your guide. You also can
enjoy thousands of twinkling stars at night. Donggang Riverview campsite is located on higher ground and provides a wonderful view of Donggang River. This campsite has electricity, restrooms, shower rooms, etc.
Day 2 Caving at the Baekryong cave - Lunch at a remote village
On the second day, you will explore Baekryong limestone cave. Baekryong Cave is the only one of its kind
in Korea. It has been preserved in its natural state for what experts estimate to be close to 500 million years.
It’s a unique tour in which visitors are required to dress in waterproof attire and must sometimes crawl.
It might not sound like an ideal trip for some but for those seeking an adventurous weekend away from the city, Baekryong Cave is the perfect destination.
After the exploration of the cave, you will go to a restaurant in a remote village. There is only one family living in this village at the end of the road around the mountain.
You will try various vegetables and Korean native chicken dishes available in the mountain area. Your guide will escort you to your place after lunch.
